Cakes Around Town and the Ovarian Cancer Action

Cakes Around Town is privileged to join forces with Ovarian Cancer Action’s cupcake campaign to raise vital funds needed for research into ovarian cancer. This disease affects 6800 women in the UK every year, 75% of whom are only diagnosed late, once survival rates have fallen dramatically.. So to help raise money and public awareness of early stage symptoms, Ovarian Cancer Action has launched a brilliant campaign called ‘The Cupcake Break’!

Few of us need an excuse for tea and cake, but simply by getting a group of friends or colleagues together to indulge in some irresistible cupcakes and a mug of your favourite brew, you’ll be creating a memorable opportunity to raise both awareness of ovarian cancer and collect donations towards potentially life-saving research.

Cakes Around Town is donating 50p from the sale of every pack of cupcake wrappers or cases sold online to the charity for the month of March, which coincides with Ovarian Cancer awareness month.
So simply order your cases or wrappers online as per usual and at the end of the month we will be delighted to send a whopping cheque to Ovarian Cancer Action to help them with their cause - which, really, is also ours.

For more information on Ovarian Cancer Action click here http://www.ovarian.org.uk/. Their website in regards to raising the money for the Cupcake Break will be up shortly and we will post the link here.

To view our range of cupcakes click here. So from the 1st of March to the 31st of March: start baking people!

Our delightful new Edible Icing Toppers

Edible Sugar Heart on Raspberry Cupcake (Heart Sprinkles also shown)

We have just taken stock of the most delightfully crafted sugar decorations for cakes and cupakes.  We did a little photo shoot (and we are afraid to say we were a little lazy on the baking side, and bought some scrumptious cupcakes from Marks and Spencers and the Co-op! Highly recommend their Pecan Caramel).

Pecan Caramel with White Daisy

After we had completed the shoot we realised how little time it takes, given the right deco to make the most devine looking cupcakes.  So fear not, those who fear the oven....

Cow in the Clover on Raspberry Cupcake (Cupcake by M & S, Decorations by Cakes Around Town)

Buy your cupcakes from your favourite supermarket (As we said we like the Co-op and Marks and Spencers, who have a new flavour Chocolate Orange too!).  Then buy some gorgeous decorations.  You could re-dress your cupcake by placing them in new cupcake liners that are unique, or cupcake wraps (Coming to soon to Cakes Around Town UK).

Edible Footballers on Pecan Caramel (Just in time for World Cup Mania!)

With a few simple steps you can get this effect and wow everyone at your next birthday party (little did they know you just placed them on some ready made cupcakes and sprinkled with some gorgeous sugar sprinkles!). Enjoy being creative without the baking mess.
